Its been four days since Big Sean released "Control" and studios are lit up all over the country putting together diss tracks in response to Kendrick Lamar's now overwhelmingly famous verse. The reaction of the Hip-Hop community was predictable. Outraged. Kendrick has undeniably skyrocketed to the top in the last few years and has made it a point to give his feedback on the state of the Hip-Hop game as a whole. He was quoted saying “I just think we need the
proper balance. Sometimes, things will get a little over the edge and corny,
but it’s cats like myself that put that depth in the game and still have fun
and bring that fun banging energy and even have something to say. So if we stay
passionate, keep grinding and showing love to the music we will regain control
of our creativity and with that balance will come on its own and once it does,
the hip-hop game will be good.” The verse is serving as motivation for other artists to prove him wrong. Giving them something to talk about while also uniting them. It lit a fire under the ass of Hip-Hop. ICE T tweeted: "I love how ONE verse woke Hip Hop the F--- up. It's been a LONG time sinc people talked about ANYTHING someone said in their rhyme."
Later on he continued to tweet, "I'm sure there's gonna be a lot of replies and diss tracks. Don't trip. It's just Hip Hop. ... Hey, Hip Hop stripes are born in battle. Me and LL (Cool J) did our thing back in the day. It's part of the game." I can't say I disagree Ice. Kendrick Lamar is now at the center of a legendary Hip-Hop battle royale and is controlling this game like a puppet-master.
